Bill Shackelford founded Shackelford & Associates in 1982. This Chicago-based firm specializes in e-learning, IT leadership, system design, and training.

As an active software developer, trainer and facilitator, Bill has worked with such diverse clients as the U.S. Department of Defense, BP-Amoco Corporation, Allegheny Power, Altrusa International, George M. Pullman Educational Foundation, the American Association of Law Libraries, CIT Financial Services, Kemper Financial Services, Northeast Utilities, Piedmont Natural Gas, Sentara Health Care, American National Educational Corporation, Books & Periodicals Online, Inc., Hertz, University of Texas Medical Center, and the University of Illinois.

Bill is a member of the DCI faculty and was named one of the top four presenters at DCI’s Database, Client/Server World Conference in Toronto. In February 2001, he was a featured presenter at the On-Line Learning 2001 Conference in London, and he spoke twice at On-Line Learning 2001 in Los Angeles in October. He was the keynote speaker at CCASTD’s E-Learning Conference in November 2001. Since 1995 Bill has frequently served as a senior facilitator/consultant for Russell Martin & Associates. He is the Chicago correspondent for Opera Magazine (UK), editor of Best Practices in IT Leadership, and editor of Wagner News of the Wagner Society of America. His book, Project Managing E-Learning, is scheduled for publication by ASTD Press in 2002. His article, "The Art of Smart: Cultivating Customer Loyalty through E-Learning" appeared in the November issue of Cutter IT Journal.
